Salt Lake County Lead Safe Housing
The SLCo Lead Safe Housing Program is dedicated to the prevention of childhood lead poisoning and the creation of healthy home environments so that every child may grow up to reach his or her full potential.
If only lead poisoning prevention had something catchy like "stop, drop, and roll"....
Spotting danger from fire is relatively easy. Not so with lead poisoning. There are no specific symptoms. No real warning signs. No smoke. No warm doors. Just silent danger. If you live in an old house with chipping and peeling paint, or you're remodelling, your child may be exposed to lead-based paint.
- Do you live in a house built before 1978?
- Is there chipped or peeling paint in your home?
- Do you have a child under 6 that lives in or frequently visits your home?
- Are you at or below the qualifying income level?
